Doing chores is never much fun, but one of the worst things about having to clean the house is that it’s actually expensive. Why not trying to clean them with simple ingredients!

Aside from cooking, baking soda has a variety of additional household uses and health benefits. Let us have a look at some cool hacks!

Simply sprinkle a light layer of baking soda on the bottom of the can before replacing the bag.

Create a lemon juice paste with  ½ cup bleach with ¾ cup baking soda. Brush the paste with a toothbrush on grout lines. Let it sit for a few minutes and wipe it off.

Mix with 1 cup baking soda, 1 cup salt and 1 cup white vinegar into a paste. Apply to the stain and allow to dry then vacuum!

Mix 2 cups of vinegar, 1 cup of baking soda, 2 cups of washing powder, add some vinegar then 1 kettle of boiling water. Watch as the alkaline reacts with the acid vinegar and it should help to dissolve any grime built up.

Keep a small bowl of baking soda in your fridge to help neutralise smells. It works like a sponge to soak up any bad odours – just remember to change it every month or so.

Add baking soda to a sponge and clean the insides of your microwave and reduce odors by putting two tablespoons of baking soda in a microwave safe bowl and add a cup of water on top of that. Then put the bowl in the microwave for three minutes.

Simply sprinkle baking soda all over the surface, then gently rub it into a paste with a warm, soapy cloth. Let it sit, and then rinse with warm water.
