GUIDE TO CLEAN A SHOWERHEAD
Many of us usually forget to clean our showerheads when we clean our bathroom. However, we use the showerhead to shower every day. Therefore, we should clean our showerheads routinely to keep the water flowing from the showerhead. Here’s a guide to clean a showerhead and remove minerals deposits from the showerhead.
If your shower head is clogged severely, you should soak the showerhead into the acidic solution – white vinegar first. White vinegar is a natural cleaning solution that can dissolve the deposits from the showerhead.
Use white vinegar to clean the hard deposits
Fill the white vinegar into a plastic bag. Fasten the plastic bag with a string to wrap around the neck of the showerhead. Let it sit for several hours. If the material of your shower head is nickel-coated or brass, please remove the showerhead from the vinegar after half an hour. Because the vinegar might damage the finish if soaked for a long time.
After a few hours, remove the plastic bag filled with white vinegar. Rinse the showerhead with hot water to flush out the stubborn mineral deposits inside. Use a toothbrush to scrub the showerhead and remove the residue. Polish the showerhead with a clean cloth.
Mix baking soda with water
Make a cleaning paste by combining the few spoons of baking soda with equal water. Mix well to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on the showerhead and let it sit for around half an hour. Scrub the showerhead with a toothbrush and rinse it thoroughly.
If the deposits are still unable to remove from the showerhead. You can try to combine a cup of baking soda with three cups of white vinegar and make it into a paste. Apply this paste on the showerhead and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Use a toothbrush to scrub the showerhead and rinse it with water.
